Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you may have questions pertaining to your first visit, insurance, what to expect and billing.

General Questions

After an acute injury, should I use ice or a heat pad?

Use a heating pad or hot pad before you stretch or if you have a muscle spasm. We recommend that after an acute injury you should use ice for 48 hours to help control pain and spasms while minimizing the total damage of the injury by lowering the metabolic needs of the healthy tissue surrounding the injury site. We highly recommend to seek Doctor’s attention to avoid complications or other underlying conditions.

Are physical therapy treatments covered by health insurance programs?

Most therapy treatments are covered by health insurance. We will assist you in determining the amount of your insurance coverage as well as the frequency of treatments.

How long will my appointment last?

This can vary based on the exact needs of each patient. We will be able to determine this after your examination and exactly what therapy you will be receiving.

Is there anything I need to bring to my appointment?

Please plan to bring your personal ID, for you and all the persons involved in the accident, insurance card and police report.

If the person injured in the accident is not the primary in the insurance policy, they still have the right to be seen by the Doctor and treated.

You can find all of the paperwork you’ll need for your first visit on our Initial Visit page. Please feel free to contact us before your appointment if you have any questions.

What will happen once therapy is completed?

Upon discharge, you will be given a home exercise program to further enhance your rehabilitation outcome and prevent the possibility of future re-injury.
